Annual General Meeting of Wanderers Football Club will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 16th May 2019, at the Merrion Road Clubhouse

Please note that the Annual General Meeting of Wanderers Football Club will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday 16th May 2019, at the Merrion Road Clubhouse. There are a few additions to the normal business of the AGM which I would like to highlight.

Member Survey
Firstly, you will be aware that we have recently conducted a Member survey of their current views on the Club and aspirations for the future. We will be using the AGM as an opportunity to play back the general views expressed with Mike Shelley presenting on the findings.

Development Committee
There will be an update on the activity of the  Development Committee and current plans from John Fitzpatrick.

Elected Members of the Executive Committee
As part of the rules changes brought in at the Special General Meeting during the year, two Members of our Executive Committee will be elected from the floor of the AGM. Nominations for these positions must be received at least 14 days prior to the AGM so if anyone is interested in putting themselves forward for election please forward your nomination to me by Thursday 2nd May either by post to the Club or e-mail at secretary@wanderers.ie

We will be sending out another notice nearer to the time setting out the names of nominations received.

Club Rules – suspension of Membership
There was a point raised at the SGM to consider changing the Club Rules to accommodate the suspension of Membership for Members who have to travel for work or other purposes. We undertook to review this and bring back a proposal at the AGM. Having considered this we are comfortable that such provision can be accommodated within the current Club rules without the need for specific amendments.

Club Rules – Revenue Approval
On the matter of the Rules adopted at the SGM, we submitted these to Revenue to seek Sporting Status. They have reverted looking for a small number of drafting changes which are minor in nature and not material. We will therefore be putting forward a motion at the AGM to adopt the Rules as amended by Revenue.
A marked up set of the Rules can be accessed via this link and are summarised below :

2.6.5      Guidelines for setting expenses moved from Hon Treasury function at 2.8.1 (e) to an Executive Committee Function
2.8.1      Reference to “Officer” amended to “Officer or Trustee”
2.8.2      Cross reference to 2.5 for clarity
11.2       Replace Constitution with Rules
14          Clarification on bye-laws

We look forward to seeing you on the 16th May.

Simon Hoffman
Honorary Secretary
